New England Patriots -7 @ Miami Dolphins
First Monday Night game of the season. Who’s excited to hear Jon Gruden gush about players you didn’t know existed before like they’re first ballot hall of famers? Last time the Patriots made a prime time visit to South Beach the Dolphins limped off the field after taking a 41-14 beat down. Look for more of the same in Week 1.
New York Giants -2.5 @ Washington Redskins.
The Giants were smacked around by the injury bug this preseason losing defensive back Terrell Thomas and defensive end Osi Umenyiora but when a team is still deciding who to start at quarterback and the options are Rex Grossman and John Beck it’s tough to pick the Skins. Look for the G-Men to get that first win.
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets -6
Although I do not root for the Jets, I think I’m with everyone when I say I root for New York today.
Who would have ever thought a Cowboys team could fly under the radar coming into a season. The Cowboys bring back a stellar defense and an offense that was the only one in football to have two 1,000 yard receivers(Miles Austin1,041 and Jason Witten 1,002) and in ten of those games they were being thrown to by the decaying corpse of Jon Kitna. I think the Jets win but don’t cover against the ‘Boys. After all they are America’s team. (At least that’s what they keep saying.)
Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City -5
Somewhere over Dwayne Bowe the Chiefs will fly. Despite Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel’s lingering rib injury the Chiefs are too loaded on offense with Bowe and running back Jamaal Charles for the Bills to seriously contend in this one.
